From January 2010 to January 2013, Bill McCracken was chief executive officer at CA Technologies, one of the world's largest information technology management software companies. He is now an executive advisor to the company. Bill joined CA Technologies Board of Directors in 2005 and held the roles of both non-executive and executive chairman from 2007 – 2010.
Before joining CA Technologies, Bill held numerous executive positions at IBM during his 36-year tenure. He served as a member of the Chairman's Worldwide Management Council and general manager of IBM's printing division. Prior to those roles, he was president of IBM's EMEA and Asia PC Company, and a general manager of marketing, sales and distribution for IBM PC Company.
Bill is currently a member of the Board of Directors of MDU Resources Group, is the president of Executive Consulting Group, LLC, and was a director of IKON Office Solutions.
In 2009, Bill was named as one of the top 100 most influential people in the boardroom by NACD Directorship magazine and joined the NACD board in 2010. He was a commissioner of the NACD Blue Ribbon Commission (BRC) on Risk Governance, was co-chair of the BRC on Board Diversity, was a member of the BRC on Talent Development, and co-chair of the BRC on the Board and Long-Term Value Creation. Bill was the New York Vice-Chair of CEOs Against Cancer and a member of the Business Roundtable. He is a member of the Economic Club of New York.
Bill is the chairman of the board of Lutheran Social Ministries of New Jersey, and serves on the board of PENCIL, a nonprofit organization that partners businesses with public schools in New York City. He is the New York chairman of the Chairmen's Forum, and is a member and vice-chairman of the board of the Millstein Center for Global Markets and Corporate Ownership at Columbia.
Peter Gleason has been the CEO of NACD since 2017. He has served in a variety of roles during his tenure at NACD, including President, CFO, COO, Managing Director, and VP of Research and Development. Gleason is a recognized expert on board leadership and corporate governance. He serves as a member of NACD's national faculty, is regularly quoted in the media, and is a frequent presenter on the subjects of corporate governance, executive and director compensation, risk, strategic planning, and board/shareowner relations. Gleason has served as a commissioner on every NACD Blue Ribbon Commission report since joining NACD in 2000 and is an NACD Board Leadership Fellow.
He currently serves on the NACD board, the advisory board of NuraHealth, Inc., and the International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC), based in London. He is the immediate past chair of the Global Network of Director Institutes (GNDI) and the former chair of the International Professional Practices Framework Oversight Council of the Institute of Internal Auditors. He has served on a number of other non-profit boards.
Before joining NACD, Gleason was a management consultant with both Ernst & Young and Pritchett & Associates. He also served as vice president and director of US Research for Institutional Shareholder Services.

Sue Cole is a director of Martin Marietta Materials, Inc., where she serves as chair of the Nominating and Governance Committee. She also serves on the boards of Biscuitville Inc. and Diversified Trust Company. A founding director and past president of NACD's Carolinas Chapter, she continues to be on several non-profit boards, including United Way of Greater Greensboro and the Greensboro Science Center.
Ms. Cole is currently the managing partner of SAGE Leadership & Strategy LLC, a boutique advisory firm she founded in 2011 to advise family businesses and large non-profits on strategy, leadership development, and governance. She has more than 35 years of experience in the financial services industry, including corporate lending and wealth management. Before founding SAGE, she was a principal with Granville Capital Inc. for five years. She served as regional CEO for the Mid-Atlantic at United States Trust Company N.A., where she was responsible for the strategic direction, growth, and leadership of five offices in North Carolina, Philadelphia, and Washington, DC. She also served as president of North Carolina Trust Company, the predecessor to U.S. Trust Company of North Carolina.
Early in her career, she was a senior vice president at North Carolina National Bank, where she oversaw corporate banking services in the Greensboro area and managed the retail branch system. A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, Ms. Cole earned her B.S. in Business Administration in 1972 and her M.B.A. in Finance in 1977.
Nora M. Denzel is an independent board director with AMB, Ericsson, NortonLifeLock, and Talend SA. She became a full-time independent board director after retiring in 2012 as a key C-suite executive at Intuit (TurboTax, Mint, and QuickBooks), with her last position being senior vice president of Big Data. Prior, she held technical executive roles at HP Enterprise as the SVP of three divisions (all with over $1 billion P&Ls): Computer Storage, Enterprise Software, and HPE Consulting. She also was a senior executive at Legato Systems Inc. (now part of DellEMC). She began her career as an IBM software engineer, progressing to become an executive.
Denzel has served for more than 10 years on the board of AnitaB.org, a nonprofit dedicated to increasing the number of women in computing. She holds a bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the State University of New York and a Master of Business Administration from Santa Clara University. In 2012, she was named as one of the top 25 women engineers by Business Insider Magazine.
Cari Dominguez is a corporate director of ManpowerGroup (NYSE: MAN) and Triple-S Management Corp. (NYSE: GTS), the leading managed care company in Puerto Rico with exclusive rights to the BlueCross BlueShield trademark. She is also a trustee of the Calvert Funds, and former chair of the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). She has also served in the U.S. Department of Labor in roles, including Assistant Secretary of Labor for Employment Standards and director of the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs. Her corporate experience includes various senior human resources positions at Bank of America, including director of executive programs. She was also a partner at two international executive search firms, serving in their financial services, human resources, and corporate board practices.
Dominguez has served on numerous nonprofit boards, including Loma Linda University and Medical Center, the Leadership Foundation of the International Women’s Forum, and the Human Resources Planning Society. She has received numerous awards and national recognition for her public policymaking roles and global efforts to promote diversity. Hispanic Business magazine has recognized her as one of the “80 Elite Hispanic Women” and one of the “100 Most Influential Hispanics in the Country.”
Nick Donofrio currently serves on the boards of APTIV, Security Score Card, Sproxil, and The MITRE Co. He is the chair of the Peace Tech Lab and Quantexa boards. Nick was formerly a director on the Advanced Micro Devices Inc. and Delphi Automotive plc boards and chaired the innovation and technology committee for both companies. He previously sat on the board of Bank of New York Mellon, where he chaired the technology committee, and was a director of Liberty Mutual. Mr. Donofrio brings to NACD a wide range of executive management skills and significant technological expertise.
He began his career in 1964 at IBM, where he remained for 44 years in increasingly responsible roles, including those of division president for advanced workshops, general manager of the large-scale computing division, and executive vice president of innovation and technology. In 2008 he was elected an IBM Fellow, the company's highest technical honor, and in the same year received the first U.S. National Nuclear Security Administration Gold Medal ever conferred on a non-U.S. government employee.
He has long focused on advancing educational and career development opportunities for underrepresented minorities and women in the STEM disciplines. This commitment has been recognized with numerous honors and awards. He is also a member of the National Academy of Engineering, a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, a Fellow of Britain's Royal Academy of Engineering, and the 2010 recipient of the IRI Medal. Recently he chaired a National Academy of Engineering initiative that resulted in the March 2015 release of a report titled Making Value for America: Embracing the Future of Manufacturing, Technology, and Work.
Brenda Gaines currently serves as the audit committee chair for Tenet Healthcare and on the board of Southern Company Gas. She previously served on the boards of AGL Resources, the Federal National Mortgage Association (Fannie Mae), Nicor, and Office Depot. She was president and chief executive officer of Diners Club North America, a division of Citigroup Inc., until her retirement in March 2004 and held a variety of senior management positions within Citigroup. Gaines is a delegate to the NACD Audit Committee Chair Advisory Council, served on the NACD Chicago Chapter board, and was recognized as an NACD Directorship 100 honoree in both 2011 and 2012.
Dan Gallagher is the Chief Legal Officer of Robinhood, a fast-growing brokerage giving millions of people access to our financial system. Before joining Robinhood, Dan was Partner and Deputy Chair of the Securities Department at the international law firm WilmerHale. In those roles, he advised corporate boards and management on the full range of legal and strategic issues and counseled financial services and accounting firms in investigations, regulatory proceedings, and policy matters.
Dan has an extensive background in financial markets and regulatory matters, including serving as a Commissioner of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) from 2011 to 2015. He held several other positions on the SEC staff before being appointed commissioner, including deputy director and co-acting director of the division of trading and markets. Dan also previously served as the Chief Legal Officer at Mylan N.V., a leading global pharmaceutical company, and as the president of a financial services consulting firm.
Dan serves on the boards of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) and Symbiont, and was formerly a non-executive director of the Irish Stock Exchange. He is also on the advisory boards for the Institute for Law and Economics at the University of Pennsylvania and the Center for Corporate Governance, part of the Raj & Kamla Gupta Governance Institute in Drexel University's LeBow College of Business. Dan holds a J.D. from Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law, and a B.A. from Georgetown University.
Raymond V. Gilmartin is the former Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer of Merck & Co., Inc., a globally research-driven pharmaceutical company that discovers, develops, manufactures, and markets innovative vaccines and medicines. Mr. Gilmartin joined Merck as President and Chief Executive Officer in June 1994 and was named Chairman of the Board in November 1994. Shortly after retiring from Merck in 2006, he joined the faculty at Harvard Business School, where he taught in the MBA and executive education programs through 2012. Before joining Merck, Mr. Gilmartin served as Chairman, President, and CEO of Becton Dickinson, a global company that develops, manufactures, and markets medical devices and diagnostic products. He joined that company in 1976 as vice president, strategic planning, and took on positions of increasing responsibility over the next eighteen years.
Mr. Gilmartin is on the board of the National Association of Corporate Directors. He has served as the Lead Director for Microsoft and General Mills. He is a trustee of the Committee for Economic Development. He is the past Chairman of the Board of The United Negro College Fund and has served as Chairman of the Board of Dean's Advisors for the Harvard Business School.
Mr. Gilmartin has been an active participant in health industry affairs worldwide. Mr. Gilmartin was co-chair of the Presidential Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS, is a past chair of the Healthcare Leadership Council, and was a board member of the Alliance for Healthcare Reform. He is a past chair of the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America and a past president of the International Federation of the Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Associations. Mr. Gilmartin also has been involved in global economic and trade issues that concern the pharmaceutical industry. He was a member of the President's Export Council and is a past chair of the Council on Competitiveness. Mr. Gilmartin received a BS in electrical engineering from Union College in 1963 and an MBA from Harvard Business School in 1968.

Winston is an experienced executive and corporate board member who has served as an interim chief executive officer, as well as chief financial officer at three large industry-leading corporations. She leverages her extensive financial, business, and corporate governance experience to bring value to the corporate boardroom. Winston has years of experience serving as an SEC financial expert on public company boards and audit committees.
She currently serves on the following public company boards: Acuity Brands Inc. (NYSE: AYI), a manufacturer of lighting and energy management technology solutions with $4 billion in revenue, where she chairs the Audit Committee and serves on the Governance and Executive Committees, after serving on the Compensation Committee for two years; Bed Bath & Beyond Inc. (Nasdaq: BBBY), a retailer specializing in home decor, furnishings, and accessories with $11 billion in revenue and 1,500 stores, where, after serving as interim chief executive officer, she now serves on the Transformation & Strategy Committee; Domtar Corp. (NYSE: UFS), a manufacturer of paper, pulp, and fiber-based consumer products with approximately $5 billion in revenue, where she serves on the Audit and the Finance Committees; and Dover Corp. (NYSE: DOV), a global diversified manufacturer of industrial products with revenues of approximately $8 billion and market cap over $16 billion, where she served as chair of the Audit Committee for 10 years and now serves on the Compensation and Finance Committees.

She was a valued strategic advisor to the CEOs, executive committees, and boards of directors. She has also held executive-level positions with Visteon Corp. and Pfizer Inc. She started her career in public accounting with Arthur Andersen & Co. Among several honors, Winston was named one of the Most Influential Black Corporate Directors, the Most Powerful Women in Business, and the Most Influential People in Finance. She has appeared on CNBC's Squawk Box and Bloomberg Business Radio and has been quoted in Reuters Business News, Bloomberg Business, and The Wall Street Journal. Winston holds a bachelor's degree in Accounting and Information Systems from the University of Wisconsin and an MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg Graduate School of Management. Dona D. Young is the lead director of Foot Locker, where she previously chaired the nominating and governance committee. She is also a member of the supervisory board of Aegon NV and chairs its risk committee. Additionally, Young serves on the boards of Save the Children and Save the Children International. She currently engages in strategic advising and consulting.
Young retired as chair, president, and CEO of The Phoenix Companies, an insurance and asset management company, after a nearly 30-year career. Earlier, she had been the organization's general counsel, and was among the first women to serve in that capacity for a financial services company. She was one of only 24 women CEOs of Fortune 1000 companies at the time of her 2008 retirement. During her six-year tenure as CEO of The Phoenix Companies, she oversaw a major restructuring of the company, and retired shortly after the successful spin-off of its asset management business at the end of 2008. The spin-off company, VIRTUS, trades on the Nasdaq exchange.
Young has spoken widely on a range of issues, including leadership, civic engagement, and board and governance matters. Since August, 2012, she has served on the faculty of the Director Professionalism® Program of the National Association of Corporate Directors.
Young has earned the NACD Board Leadership Fellow designation, which is NACD's highest designation. She has also received NACD's Certificate in Cybersecurity Oversight from the Software Engineering Institute at Carnegie Mellon University. In 2015, she was named to the NACD Directorship 100, which recognizes the most influential leaders in the boardroom each year.
