Speaker Spotlight

Peter Gleason (moderator) is managing director and CFO of the National Association of Corporate Directors and serves as treasurer for the NACD board of directors. He also leads NACD’s research group that engages in substantive research projects focused primarily on helping establish and refine leading practices to enhance board performance. He serves as a member of NACD’s national faculty presenting on a variety of subjects related to board governance, and is regularly quoted in the national media. He is currently a director of Nura Health Inc. and serves as Chair of the International Professional Practices Framework Oversight Council of the Institute of Internal Auditors.

 Libby Cheney is chief operating officer for Cheney Energy Partners (CEP). Prior to March 2014, Cheney was vice president of environmental, health, and safety for Hess Corp. Prior to joining Hess, she spent 5 years with Royal Dutch Shell as vice president of safety, environment, and sustainable development and 24 years with ExxonMobil. She is active in many civic and professional organizations, including the Offshore Energy Center in Houston, the Society of Petroleum Engineers, and the United Way of Greater Houston.

Adam Hartung is a successful entrepreneur, angel investor, and former head of business development for PepsiCo and DuPont. Currently, he is CEO of Soparfilm Energy and Spark Partners, and Board member of 6 Dimensions and Content Laboratory. He writes the top leadership column for Forbes and CIO magazines; is a contributing editor to the International Journal of Innovative Science; and is the author of the book Create Marketplace Disruption: How to Stay Ahead of the Competition (Financial Times Press, 2010). He is a National Association of Corporate Directors' Board Leadership Fellow.
